It takes less soldiers to defend a fort
than warriors to attack that position
the common ratio for such a task
in favor of the attackers is 5 to 1

In many cases it is good to fight
a war of attrition
releasing the footholds
letting go of the inches

the larger unit has numerical superiority
whereas the smaller unit has higher mobility

it is better to move without marching
to be one with the people
fading away after the action
is fulfilled

the greatest calamity
is to underestimate one's adversary
this can result in losing
your three greatest assets
compassion, economy, humility

because though two join in battle
there is only one victory

perhaps it is best to run away
and live to fight another day
